I haven't been to the page for a while and I especially love the skeletons in the closet section. You pretty much voiced one of my oldest sayings "Everyone has a closet fetish, but that's honestly where it should stay!" Gotta respect a politictian who says "Yeah I did it. What of it?"

Personaly if you ran for president I would have no other choice than to vote for you and your open and honest standing amongst the candidates... :D here in Louisiana there are nothing but the dirty , filthy , low , subhuman politcians ( I personaly have a book's worh of sheer dirt on our "esteemed" mayor and his cronies...but that's a diffrent story for another day...) Ihope you win , good luck and gods bless. :D

Alas, I cannot vote for you, Kris, as I am one state away (Oklahoma).

Good luck to you and keep us posted on the goings.

Although, I think this does need to be said:

You mention in your Skeletons in the Closet area, that you fear that (in the hypothetical secession of Texas) the Democrats would make Texas a socialist state.

What is wrong with socialism? Socialism has received a lot of bad press thanks to the Nazis. Yet, all across the world, almost every First World nation is a Democratic Socialits nation.

They offer free medical care to their citizens (after all, shouldn't the government be responcible for seeing that their citizens are, at the very least, HEALTHY!?!). And don't even get me started on how low their prescription medicines are compared to the U.S.

Here in the U.S, morkers slave away for extended 8-10 hour-days with no overtime pay; giving up their vacation time to make sure they can continue to pay the bills. In other First World nations, they work 4-6 hours a day, getting a 1 1/2 hour lunch break, and still make enough to pay their bills and have free cash on hand... without giving up their vacation time. The only country that works harder than the Americans are the Japanese.

In other nations, the primary method of shipping large goods is be train. And these countries have some GOOD rail systems! Yet, in the U.S., our railways are falling apart, as they are privately owned, and the companies that own them do not bother to perform any major upkeep efforts. As to the transportation of large goods, the U.S. uses 18-wheeler trucks more so than the railways. Over 50% of all automotive collisions are due to these trucks; and in 90% of such instances, those not in the trucks are killed. We need to get these vehicles off our roads and use the railways as they should be used.

Now, don't get me wrong. I love the United States and would not want to live anywhere else. One cannot get the freedoms we have here on any other nation. (I like being able to say that I think our current president is a criminal and several of the things he has enacted during his presidency are against the Contstitution.)

I didn't mean to get off on a rant, here, but I just think that some amount of Socialism should be part of the U.S. government.

Just something for you to think about, Kris, should you manage to achive some proper authority.

Socialism?

Postby K-MacK » Thu Oct 19, 2006 3:22 pm

One of the problems with Socialism is that it turns Government from a Contractor providing a Service to a permanently installed Management Organization.
While I will agree that when it works right, it's impressive in its scope and breadth of care and concern for the Citizens, it can, and does go horribly wrong in all too many situations. Then there's Hell to pay, with awful interest compounding hourly.
The problem with our system of Government is that it is a decidedly "hands-on" system, and people are, by the group, just a bit lazy. We DO have a fair system of Government: we get the Government we deserve...and if we get lazy...we reap the results of that lazyness: the Extremists, who aren't lazy, take over. Thus, our current state of affairs.
Another thorn: When the Government takes over some service, like Health/Medical care, at first it's wonderful; the Government becomes responsible for the continuing Health of its Citizens, and people get medical care at little or no cost to themselves, other than in taxes. But then (and here in the People's Republic of Kalifornia) the Government becomes pro-active and starts legislating Health...and then it gets interesting, as Legislators practice medicine. We have a little Tax here on Tobacco and Tobacco products, ostensibly to help with the cost of Prevention, Cessation, and Treatment of Tobacco-related Illnesses. Slight problem: less than 25% of those revenues go toward ANY Tobacco related Anythings...guess where the rest of the money goes? Right, other funds that have nothing to do with Tobacco, but are near and dear to the people administrating the Tobacco fund.
In England, if you use Tobacco, you are not eligible for Heart-Surgery until you have been off (and can prove it) Tobacco for at least two years (as per my last update from Old Blighty).
There are lots of other examples: but Kris is right; Socialism and America just don't mix: We overturned Government as Mangement and replaced it with Government as Contracted Services with the Revolution, and have grown away from the mindset that endorses Socialism in any form...No matter how nice it may seem; we have proved that doing it ourselves works better in the Long Run.
And Kris really would make a good Legislator: Running this Forum has given him training available nowhere else. Best Wishes on your Election, Kris.

The campaign is over, and I didn't win.

However, with 24% of the vote in my race, I turned out to be the strongest Libertarian candidate for the state legislature in Texas!

24% for a third-party candidate is nothing to sneeze at, especially in way-too-fucking-red Texas.

Scoring 24% as a 3rd party in a deep deep red state, is a great achievement. You may not have won, but that's pretty good.

We shall see how the Dems do. If they end up screwing things up as much as the Neocons did, I wouldn't be too suprised if more people start voting 3rd party.

Hunh?

Postby K-MacK » Sun Nov 19, 2006 7:23 pm

What's funny about the name Bryan? Oh...the Last name! Cute, his last name is unpronouncable without careful sounding out...Ger-seg-or-sick.
Now try the one on my Birth Certificate: Chullein, which I've phoneticized into Kyllein, because otherwise I usually get sprayed. :(
It's C'hoo-lleyn. Means Forest Wolf. I wonder what Grcegorczyc means?
Incidentally, California has Birth Certificates that say "Certificate of live birth." My question...why? If you're using it to buy beer or something, you are obviously alive...or were born that way. :?
But I do agree that this guy's name is funnier than mine. I wonder how many times he has had to explain how to pronounce his last name...probably more than me: 'cause I use KMacK. :D
Make a lot of money on your comissions! :D :D
