Spam posts - an editorial

For those of you who troll the boards constantly please read the following and take it as it is intended. The recent influx of spam posts and spambots is a direct result of increased actual user traffic. This is a good thing because it means that more people are visiting the site and registering on the forums. The other side of that coin is that there are an increased volume of hits from spambots and subsequently there will be more spam posts.

DO NOT respond to spam posts. It's annoying enough to have to remove spam posts. It's even worse when a human being feels the need to post a response to an automated bot. I'll give you one warning and then I delete you for stupidity

DO NOT message or email the admin everytime a spam post appears. We are painfully aware of their existence and take care of it on an as needed basis. We do appreciate your attention to this and your desire to help. Honestly though all it does is clutter up email and pm boxes. The only exceptions to this are if a pornographic or otherwise offensive post is made in a general discussion area. Report these immediately, to me if possible. Even at work I keep my messengers open so I can deal with such issues. In the event I don't answer, I'm away from my desk at the moment.

Thanks for your attention to these matters.
