Dreamhost counter in old PitW pages causing slow page loads

Many old pages in the Peter is the Wolf archives like and contain a link to a Dreamhost counter with the domain counter.dreamhost.com. This counter holds up the page load until the browser times out, causing page loads to take a long time. I verified that this is not a DNS issue using nslookup, which returns an IP address of 69.163.254.5 for that domain. There are too many pages affected by this issue for me to list all of them. This has affected both Microsoft Edge on Windows and Apple Safari on iPhone.
