Should PitW go on an indefinite hiatus?

Postby Happygun » Thu Dec 04, 2014 2:09 pm

I've been reading PitW since its inception and it seems as though its update schedule has grown increasingly erratic over the last year or so, with multiple skipped weeks and new strips usually appearing on Thursday rather than Wednesday. I'm not angry or even frustrated. PitW is not Bar1's full-time job or even a significant source of income for him. I also get the impression it's becoming more and more difficult for him to balance his work and commissioned art with the webcomic. While I really love PitW, maybe it would be for the better to put everything on pause until Bar1 and Kris have the time and energy to keep some momentum going. Unsteady update schedules hurt webcomics like nothing else and I'd rather go without PitW for a year or two than see it slowly stumble along, constantly tripping over itself.

NO.

The comic has gone on indefinite hiatus before; when it did, we had fewer than half the readers when we came back.

Even erratic updates are better than none.

I suppose that's true. The audience has shrunk a bit since.

Comic definitely does feel like its on an extended hiatus.

Not picking a fight here but a smart business man would be posting something/anything on the front page like:

-What is going on ATM
-Why the delay is ongoing
-When the comic might restart
-Posting production sketches/fan art in the meantime to show the comic is still semi-active

But that's just me though.

I hope there's at least filler planned for New Year's. On Thursday it'll be the 10th anniversary of the comic's debut.
