I thought about explaining things from Sarah's point of view, but decided against it.

A few highlights, though.

* The cardboard box was Peter's idea, but Sarah has on multiple occasions sent him to the couch- even though they do not share a bedroom. Peter goes along with it to keep the peace- very typical omega behavior.

(It was also inspired by the main character's sorry-for-myself prop from Battle Athletes Victory.)

* Until the incident with Butch Peter was the only person Sarah trusted implicitly (that is, within certain limits of intelligence). Sarah did not wreck the lodge in an all-night pity party that half the town could hear from miles off just because a casual boy-toy got caught with another wolf in his bed. Peter was not a "one night stand" to her; he was the "sweet high school love" mixed with "different worlds" tragedy that would tear them apart. Sarah would have been quite happy to keep Peter (pre-lycanthropy), but she just didn't think a long-distance relationship during college (eight years) would work. In short, there is quite a lot of genuine feeling on Sarah's end of the relationship- but she's not good at showing it, and she's angry about a lot of things right now.

* Jean is not interested in a permanent romantic relationship with Peter. He's a friend, and he's a great ride, but she just can't take him seriously long-term. (And more to the point, right now she's not interested in ANY permanent romantic relationship.) A Peter-Jean thing would be only for the sex and LOLz- nothing deeper. (As today's page makes pretty clear.)

i think i have figured out Jean's plan, as previously stated according to the old lore: "A stronger werewolf, or a werewolf of greater social standing, can claim ANY weaker member of the pack for a sex partner (provided no one else has dibs, that is)" quoted from Jean's mother, who is the female alpha pg192 adult

As daughter of the alpha Jean, while not a strong werewolf, has considerable social standing. Sarah being a thrall has no social standing at all, but is without a doubt the strongest werewolf around and is a part of the pack. i think that Jean wants to goad Sarah into a fight over Peter and then just surrender him. This essentially will make their relationship official in the packs eyes, and anyone in the pack who wants peter will be forced to fight Sarah for Peter. it will also help make Sarah realize just how much she cares for Peter [/specualtion]
