Ways lycanthropes, in Peter is the Wolf, may be killed:

* Beheading, if the lycanthrope is old or weak. Young and strong lycanthropes may survive beheading if the head is placed back on the body promptly. (There is a time limit, but nobody's studied it that closely, especially since there are quite definite bad consequences to the brain of the lycanthrope involved in such an experiment.) Also, beheading is almost certain to work on a lycanthrope in human form.

* Wounds caused by the claws or fangs of another werewolf. Regeneration doesn't touch those, so such wounds would only heal at the same rate as a human- allowing such a wound to eventually exsanguinate.

* Fire.

* Silver- bullet, blade, even (if you're cruel) silver as poison.

* Old age.

That is the entire canonical list for this comic.

It should be noted that, prior to the Romantic era in our history, "werewolves" were a lot easier to kill- especially since a lot of them were hung after being convicted at trial. Legend has all sorts of ways to kill a werewolf- only recently, historically speaking, has silver taken such a prominent role.

There are so many factors that go into preserving tissue or embryos at cold temperatures. Bodily damage from hypothermia is due to a number of factors, including the inability to circulate blood to tissue, decreased enzymatic activity, etc. In the case of 0 C or below, you have additional concerns such as the formation of ice crystals, which will lyse cells or exude into the extracellular spaces, concentration of harmful solutes. Flash-freezing results in vitrified (i.e. glass-like) water that won't form ice crystals, but it's very hard to flash-freeze a heterogeneous object like a living organism all at once.

Based on what I've read, a werewolf could probably survive third degree hypothermia or even being frozen, but it'd take a while to recover as ALL tissue would be damaged to various degrees and there'd be irrevocable damage to the CNS (central nervous system), which is one of the few things lycanthropic regeneration can't restore perfectly.

What about powerful acids? There really aren't any acids on the level of, say, xenomorph blood - the ones that come close are too unstable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluoroantimonic_acid). High molar sulfuric acid will sting like hell and leave very nasty scars, but it's not going to melt you in a matter of minutes like you see in the movies; even overnight suspension - while definitely killing the poor victim - won't completely dissolve a body and will leave teeth behind. Then again, it destroys cells and tissues on a molecular level and is in some ways just as bad (or worse) than fire.

I think he was being facitious. Werewolves obey the chunky salsa rule. Honestly, that's right up there with 'beheading'. It's the same principle. If their brain doesn't get blood for a while, they die.

Honestly, I have a theory that the full-vampire kill method works for just about anything. Stake through the heart, cut off the head, fill the mouth with garlic, burn everything, throw the ashes into two seperate rivers.

It looks like somethign similar to GOld Digger, where the background information will probably never come up, but is there to make the comic seem more real.

Fred Perry is also good at making up rules to fit the plot, then sticking with those rules for a LONG time. Then making future plots by those rules. See, for instance, Brittney being immune to fire, which became a plot point, as it meant Dragonbreath from "Iron Dragons" is not magical.
