No, they've had at least... I think two. But this is the first one that Sarah will attend, and the first during the actual school semester. Nearly everyone who's currently a student, or loosely engaged with the pack would probably be expected to be there.

As of the end of book 2, two full lunar cycles have taken place since the start of book 1.
Book 3 will take place about a cycle and a half later- around Halloween time.

Doesn't PitW take place in Michigan or something?
