A few other facts:

* Lee is financially supported by the family. Juniper went to college, totally against her family's wishes, on a combination of scholarships and odd-job income from dowsing, palmistry, Tarot reading, seances, and teaching defensive unarmed combat. She was well-trained in the last, and uncannily good at the others.

* Juniper and Lee's father was forcibly retired from werewolf hunting over a decade ago, when (during his ninth kill) he amputated his own leg DURING THE FIGHT to prevent lycanthropic infection. It apparently worked.

Yeah, commissions at Midwest FurFest, & some last minute work for K. Siembieda are what kept me from drawing up a storm for PitW this week. But Furfest, though not fantastic, went well, enough so that I splurged a little and picked up a discounted copy of Shard, a hardcover anthro RPG i first saw a couple years ago at AnthroCon. Also played a bit of Furoticon Friday Night (and a game of Cards Against Humanity Thursday), and a certain book involving ponies.

but yeah, it's wrap Palladium stuff, then PitW stuff, then these commissions to power through.

man i hate when this is translated wrong "Suffer ye not a witch to live." its something ells its "Suffer ye not a poisoner to live." it but it is from the version of Exodus 22, King James Version which is a wtf momentum.
why its because the word poisoner sounds like witch in the translation of this line and is a mistake.

'witch' and 'poisoner' could have well been interchangeable. Alongside "quack".

Remember, introducing chalk into flour (food adulteration) was a felony in pre-revolutionary France (there were, by the way, many, many other ways of doing this, throughout history, and many could have lethal results). Much of the "clean/unclean" dietary restrictions are clearly the result of trial & error, and an attempt to stave off food born illness. (Heh, first, we introduce chalk into the flour... then, we introduce the flour into the cocaine... it's a proud history of stepping on a pure product to make money!)

In a community with little medical learning, a "witch" could be any non-educated "healer", and likely to kill their patients through malpractice as heal them. look at the modern age, where there are still trials and accusations of "witchcraft" in remote communities. Often indicating how poorly educated & superstitious these groups can be.
