White Lightning Productions was founded in January 1997 by Kris Overstreet. Using about $100 in cash, two boxes of comics gathered at various times over the previous four years, and a table at Antarcticon, he set out to build a company which would publish comics -he- felt were worth publishing.

Five years later, WLP is well along the road to that goal. WLP has moved forward with a small line of adult comics and a selection of fan publications, all the while expanding the mail-order and convention sales we began with. At the moment, WLP is looking towards expanding into card games, comics merchandising, and more adult and general-audience comics and art portfolios.

White Lightning Productions is generally biased in favor of the Japanese methods of storytelling and illustration, but WLP is open-minded towards the new and unusual. WLP has only two hard-and-fast rules as far as content goes- 'no serious superheroes' and 'it better be good!'
